The Timekeeper

The Timekeeper. I bought this book at a popular fair in the middle of the year, but I hadn't gotten the chance to lay my hands on it till now due to Os. Before Os, I remember putting down reading as one of the things on my "Things to do" checklist. Finally, I get to engross in books once again. Dor grew up measuring time. From counting droplets of water, breathes and numbers, Dor created the very first clock man ever invented. He measured time, God's greatest gift to man, and he became Father Time. For his actions, he had to pay the price. He was banished to a cave to listen to the cries of the people. Cries asking for more time. After spending centuries in the cave, he was finally granted his freedom, along with a mission: To find and teach two people the true meaning of time. Sarah, a lovesick teenager who wants less time, and Victor, an old, wealthy businessman fated for death who wants more time. ![]()
"What time is it?" is undeniably the most common question in the world.
We are always asking what time it is.
"I need more time!" is undeniably the most common things to say in the world.
We are always running out of time.
"I wish time could go faster!" is undeniably the most common wish in the world.
We are always wishing for time to go by faster so we can escape certain situations.
But the truth is, the more we count time, the less we value it.
When you are measuring life, you are not living it.
We are so obsessed with controlling time -
that we do not realize the quality of time at present that we are
blessed with, to take a step back and fully appreciate its worth.
"There is a reason God limits our days." "Why?" "To make each one precious."After Os, I finally get to enjoy time. In the past, I was always checking the time. I was constantly under the mercy of time. Now, time does not bother me anymore. I notice greater things. I can loiter in a mall and notice the people around me. I can dine out with my friends and chat at ease with them. I can take a bus ride and stare out of the window. I am living. Anyways, just thought I'll share a post before I fly off later! I'll be back on the 17th with more posts! :) 0 comment[s] | back to top |
